Poison for Beauty Success -- Botox

The practice of injecting  a poisonous substance in safe levels in order to make skin appear younger because there are no wrinkles has become extremely popular recently.  Botox is even applied to skin at parties.  This is as common as eye shadow and blush.  People attending the parties don't CARE that someone knows they are winkled or WERE wrinkled.  They are only interested in moving on to the next step of supposedly having no wrinkles.  The wrinkles are 'erased' because the toxin basically blocks signals to muscles.  An area of the body which has been injected with botox  won't wrinkle because it cannot move.  The body is wonderful in that it has so many different 'segments'.  Botox can be injected into the area around the lips and get a smooth look, but other areas of even the face won't be effected.

In times past, we have had a fear of another form of botox -- botulism in our food which has paralysis as the overwhelming symptom and which has actually killed sufferers. If the muscles which the toxin is affecting are in the chest, the ability to breathe is greatly compromised.  That is the way it works with many people who have botulism poisoning; it becomes impossible for them to breathe.

The botox toxins have been used for health before beauty.   Conditions that involve spasms or involuntary muscle contractions such as cervical dystoria or strabismus have gotten relief from using certain botulism toxins.  Shortly after injection the spasms are successfully reduced or even stopped.  The toxin is injected in a small local area and is very unlikely to influence other parts of the body.

These treatments are not permanent, but can last several months.  When health is involved because of the conditions that cause spasms, getting relief for even a few months can make a wonderful difference in the quality of life.  Each day has a better chance of being beautiful.
