Manicures and
nail jobs are a great way to boost self-esteem if we are not content with what
nature gave us. There are products and skilled stylists available today who let
us fix a little thing that is frequently involved in first impressions -- our
hands and nails. I'm not sure how I feel about the BIG nails that are popular
and costly, but if they make the wearer feel pretty, that is not my problem. I
recently saw a professional woman who has her nails done, but in a very natural
and classy length with no special art. She can feel much more confident in her
appearance and enjoy the technology that permits her to.
Some products
used in making nail extensions and fills can be irritating to some users. But,
your nail professional should have access to more than one source for products
and can solve some of these problems.
I am enjoying a
toenail paint job given to me by a 6 yr old 'professional artist'. Because there
was so much to choose from in Big Sister's polish box, I have a different color
on each nail. My little professional friend told me this is an A-B-C-D-E
pattern. Had only one color been used, this would be an A pattern, or so
I was told. What great fun and I treasure the artwork every day when I put my
shoes on.
Margaret Doolan
(also, Margi Doolan) has some interesting information and opinions to share in
her article which is below:
Why do we go
through all of the trouble of getting a manicure we may ask ourselves? Because
manicures are the secret weapons that are used by most women.
Some of my
friends say that they get manicures because they are not as expensive as
therapy. A manicure can be a good quick pick you up when you’re feeling blue.
They can also instantly make you feel prettier (or at least a little fancier).
You see pictures everywhere of women with perfectly manicured fingers.
You can't open
your favorite magazine or turn on the television without seeing a set of
perfectly manicured fingers these days. Maybe it's the ease of which we can now
get manicures. There are nail salons opening up all over the place. Most with
opening offers! free or half price, trying to compete with other salons.
You see lots of
different types of manicures in magazines and catalogues. I have seen a lot of
different designs and stones put on the tops of people's finger nails and
toenails.
Recently a
friend got a pedicure, she was asked by the manicurist if she would like a
design on her big toe. She said she actually thought about it for a minute!
Before saying no! I told her it would have been cool to have a design or a stone
on her toe, but she said she thought it was her way of getting her to spend more
money.
After all, she
said she’s not the trendiest person in the world and not exactly a teenager
either, so she would have probably looked ridiculous with a design on my nail or
toenail. After her saying that, I do think that nail designs have their place in
the manicure world. I've seen a lot of other people with these images, and it
looks great on them.
In magazines you
can all ways see ads for a new type of nail polish. Some say they are chip
proof, others advertise a shine that is long lasting. There is even a nail
polish for dogs, product they were advertising was called dog pawlish. Would you
believe it -- a polish for the dogs!/. I thought it was really cute and would
have bought some, if I had a dog. I might just get one!!! A dog that is!!! Dogs
aside though, manicures are important to all women at some point and time in
their lives, even if they won't admit it.
There is always
a time when every woman considers a manicure to be of the most important thing
that she must do. An important part of preparation or acknowledgement of when
getting engaged, married or even just a girly night out with your friends when
you just know that they too will have their hand and feet digits perfectly
pedicured and manicured.
Did you know
that manicure and pedicure parties are becoming a staple of many bridal parties,
Even if you aren't the bride.
